The name TAHAKARI has been derived from a story which is a part of the famous epic “Ramayana”. When Shree Rama dwelling in a forest, Lankapati “Ravan” took away Sita. She started crying “Lord Rama”, “Lord Rama” very loudly. The place where she cried, is known as “TAHAKARI”. Marathi synonym for the phrase – “Crying loudly”, is “Taho fodane”. From the word “TAHO”, the got the name as “TAHOKARI” and over the period it converted to be known as “TAHAKARI”. |
