Every year, on the day of “chaitra pournima” (i.e. full moon of Chaitra month) festival of goddess Jagdamba takes place at Tahakari village.
This festival is celebrated by the devotees of Jagdamba Mata from Tahakari village as well as surrounding area. Villagers start preparing for the festival fifteen days before.
In this three days festival, various program like procession of chariot (Rathatsav) with chanting of prayers are conducted. The festival begins with the procession followed by reinstallation idol of goddess and her crown in the temple with MAHAPUJA. During the procession people walk with flag of the goddess attached with feather of peacock. Cultural and traditional dance forms are formed by the villagers near the temple premises. On the third day in the evening wrestling competition is conducted. This wrestling competition is called hagama. People from distance places come here to participate in the competition and show their talents.
